what a travesty!!!

The rally at PEP was full of life, but fell on deaf ears. When you read the bios of the panel's members, you get the sense that they would be interested in public schools/kids/the city- but they are in Bloomie's deep pockets- especially transparent that the one borough rep who went with the majority was a Staten Island rep- the one borough where for now there are no closings!!! But the charter steam roller will eventually make its way to the outermost borough, just a matter of knocking down publics in the other 4 more immediately-needed-for-privatization boroughs. The Uft blaming the DOE is as Norm says a joke, on all of its members. Pure damage control, as when Gail Kramer came to John dewey HS and read us a list of "alternatives" for our "worst case scenario" closing slated for this June!!! Especially nauseating were TV comments by deputy mayor/ Syncopant Major Dennis Walcoot, who said on NY1 that the buildings are needed, and its in the interest o the public!!! What a professional liar!!!!
